El Festival "Latin Wave" es una ventana a lo más reciente y original del cine latinoamericano contemporáneo. Un cine de una calidad y una creatividad tales que se ha posicionado internacionalmente como una de las joyas de la producción cinematográfica mundial actual.

Esta segunda, e incrementada, edición presenta nueve películas originarias de seis países de todo Latinoamérica (desde Argentina a México, pasando por Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia y Venezuela), que reflejan el rico panorama sociológico y cultural que existe hoy en la región, a través de una multiplicidad de miradas y recursos artísticos que incluyen el documental y la ficción.

Asimismo se fortalece el espacio de reflexión e intercambio en dos jornadas de encuentro con realizadores de los films, e intelectuales y críticos de primer nivel en los que se debatirá la actualidad y el futuro del cine latinoamericano.

"Latin Wave" es el resultado de la estrecha asociación entre dos instituciones promotoras del arte contemporáneo, el MFAH y la Fundación Proa de Buenos Aires, y del generoso apoyo de las compañías Tenaris y Ternium.

Los esperamos el año próximo para la tercera edición, con más films y más personalidades del mundo del cine latinoamericano.

The "Latin Wave" festival is a window to the newest and most original new films from Latin America. The high quality and the creativity of the films have made them one of the jewels of modern world film production.

This second and larger edition presents nine films from six different Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela), which reflect the rich social and cultural realities of this part of the world through a variety of views and artistic media, including documentaries and fiction.

During the festival, there will be two days of meetings with filmmakers, and first class intellectuals and film critics, which will provide an opportunity for reflection and exchange of ideas, as well as discussions about the present and future of Latin American cinema.

"Latin Wave" is a project of collaboration between two institutions that promote modern art, the MFAH and the Proa Foundation of Buenos Aires, and the generous support of the companies Tenaris and Ternium.
