Artist Liliana Porter will conduct a video art clinic In the occasion of the exhibition Imán: Nueva York. It will take place on Tuesday September 28, 2010 at Proa’ s Auditorium from 10AM to 6PM.
The Clinic will offer a unique opportunity for ten artists working in video art. They will have the opportunity to present their work and exchange experiences with Porter, one of the most internationally acclaimed Argentinean artists. The artist, based in New York since the 60s, exhibited her works in numerous solo and group shows in United States and ten countries around the world.
The participants will present their videos and projects, exchange viewpoints and experiences with Liliana Porter and the group. Rodrigo Alonso and Máximo Jacoby are in charge of the candidate selection.
Registration and information
Applicants can send their printed application form together with DVD copies of at least two videos produced by them between 2009-2010 to Av. Pedro de Mendoza 1929, Buenos Aires. Ten artists will be selected.
To apply, download the application form from our Website and hand it in with a DVD containing your videos at Av. Pedro de Mendoza 1929, Buenos Aires city. Application will be received until Monday September 20, 2010.

The activity is free of charge and limited to applicants.
Selected artists will be notified by e-mail before Wednesday September 22, 2010.
Certificates of attendance will be given to all participants.

Rodrigo Alonso has a Bachelor in Art (UBA), specialized in contemporary and new media art. Professor at UNTREF, USAL, IUNA, professor and member of the Consulting Committee of the Masters program and a cultural practices of Art and New Media Practices, MECAD, Barcelona. Invited as guest professor by important American and European universities, conferences and round tables. Co-director for the Taller de Arte Interactivo at Espacio Fundación Telefónica. Recent exhibitions: “Nuestra Hospitalidad”, Espai d’Art Contemporani, “Resplandores. Poéticas analógicas y digitales”, Centro Cultural Recoleta, “Tensiones públicas. Utopías domésticas”, Centro Cultural Marcelo Patiño, “Telefonías”, Fundación Telefónica, “El futuro ya no es lo que era”, Espacio Fundación OSDE. Writer, critic and collaborator in several books, art magazines and exhibtion catalogues. His publications include: Muntadas. Con/Textos, Ansia y Devoción, Jaime Davidovich. Máximo Jacoby is a curator and Visual Arts coordinator for the Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas / UBA. He studied Arts at the University of Buenos Aires from 1999 to 2003. Curator and art critic for Jorge Lanata’s newspaper Crítica de la Argentina; writer for Plan V cultural magazine, amongst others. He taught courses and conducted clinics in different art spaces, Artilaria, Start Foundation, etc. He has been a member of different juries for visual art prizes. Investigator for the UBACyT (in charge of Prof. Alicia Romero 2001-2003). Professor in the Department of Contemporary Art I and II (in charge of Rodrigo Alonso) at IUNA since 2002; of Art Psychology together with Fabiana Barreda from 2002 until 2004 (in charge of Fabiana Barreda), in the Painting Postgraduate course since 2007; and associate professor in Art Psychology (in charge of Fabiana Barreda) and in Cultural History I (in charge of Julio Sánchez) 2006-2007 at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero.
