From Allan Kaprow's Happenings to Fluxus instructions, and from Rirkit Tiravanija's transformation of the gallery into a Thai kitchen diner to Jon Rubin's Conflict Kitchen; Since the sixties, the artistic practices of the last decades have included the participation of the public through games, the suspension of social conventions and interaction rituals, and the creation of new formats that occasionally invite games and in others resort to humor such as strategy. Parallel to this story, pedagogy has also explored playful models of adult learning, from Augusto Boal's invisible theater to experimental work taking place in museums, universities, and alternative projects throughout the world.

This workshop, aimed at artists and educators, explores the rich history of these practices and offers pedagogical models based on humor and playfulness to promote critical reflection on reality. The workshop will include a series of readings, an analysis of the terms relevant to the topic, a short presentation of historical and contemporary examples of experimental practices, and a session dedicated to building games that are inspired by humor.
